About

I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky, where I also completed a graduate certification in Clinical Social Work. I am currently a trainee in the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute.

My approach is rooted in the Freudian tradition, broadly conceived, including object relations and attachment theory, contemporary relational and intersubjective perspectives, and post-Lacanian French psychoanalysis, particularly its engagement with drive theory and early relational life. I am less interested in technique as a fixed set of procedures than in the slow, careful work of understanding what is actually happening in a person's inner life and between us in the room.

My clinical interests center on complex trauma: the effects of prolonged relational harm, neglect, or emotional unavailability in early life, and the ways these experiences shape adult personality, identity, and relationships. I am particularly drawn to its relational aftermath, including repeating patterns of connection and disconnection, difficulty with trust and dependency, cycles of idealization and disappointment, and the subtle but pervasive effects of early attachment disruption on adult intimate life.

Sessions are typically open-ended and held once or twice per week, though I am open to discussing shorter-term or differently structured approaches depending on your situation.
